I want to live simply. I live with my mom who thinks buying things means love. She gave me her BMW and though I am thankful to have a car, I really don't see the big deal in a car that is labeled "expensive." To me a car is a car.
How do I cope with being thankful but yet deeply feeling her giving this to me only aids in materialism and not my goal of simple living?

Chapter 1: I chose my foil carefully and went to the dummy. I started to strike it with a lot of force. After a couple of minutes, I stopped. My face was dripping with sweat. I drank some water and turned up the air conditioner. I started to beat the dummy up again.
After an hour of training, the dummy was sliced; foam came out from its sides. I sighed and put my foil in my foil cabinet. Enough fencing for now, I thought. I ran into my room upstairs and closed it. My room was Japanese themed. My bed was red and black. The covers were decorated with Japanese letters. The walls were painted red. The top of it, black. My computer on the left, with a couple of books. I went into my closet. I changed from my purple spaghetti sleeved shirt and into a long sleeved red dress.
I ran down stairs and ate some breakfast; an omelet and four pieces of bacon. I ate it quickly and put the dishes into the dishwasher. I took my black coat from the closet and my car keys. I walked to my sleek black BMW.

I sighed as I arrived at the meeting. I gave my car to house, to which we were having our meeting in, was a big blue mansion. A fountain was placed in front covered by different colored roses. I walked in and a talk butler greeted me. He looked like he was around his 40’s. He had dark brown hair and dark blue eyes. He wore a white tux. “Good morning Dr. Evelyn John Myers.”
I smiled and replied,” Good morning. And you must be Ms. Elizabeth’s butler?”
“Yes,” he muttered. “My name is Cody Byres.”
“Nice to meet you,” I said holding out my hand.
He stared at my hand and shook his head. “I really shouldn’t Dr. Myers.”
I frowned. “Understood.”
“Have a nice day Dr. Myers,” he said, gesturing towards the library.
“Thank you,” I muttered walking to the library. Before I left, I looked back at him. Strange, he looked pale. Wait, no, I doubt Elizabeth would…Never mind. I walked into the library.
It was filled with people. I sighed, a meeting is just wonderful….Since I was a senior member, even though I’m only 18, I had to sit up front. In the front, there were name tags. I found my name next to Elizabeth and….”Justin?!” I haven’t seen him in years, and he decides to come to this meeting?!
“Hello Evelyn,” a strange but familiar voice said.
I looked back to see Justin. He seems to have longer hair now, or maybe that was just his bangs. His hair was light blonde. His eyes were deep green. He wore a light green button down shirt which matched his eyes and dark black pants. He was grinning at me like a ridiculous fool.
I rolled my eyes. “Justin,” I said roughly and took a seat.
“Come on, I’m sorry,” he begged, with those puppy dog eyes.
“I can’t forgive you now,” I began.
“Why?”
“Well, let’s see,” I paused sarcastically,” my best friend leaves me all alone after telling me what I really am and disappears the next day and never came back until today. Is that a good enough reason for you?”
He sighed and grinned at me nervously. “I know, I know. I didn’t mean to leave, I just had to. There was an emergency and, well…”
I quickly interrupted him,” I don’t care about your reasons now.” I sat down and pretended to look through the meeting plans.

I am interested in a used 2010 BMW 328i listed at $32,000, they claim that they already marked it already but I always know you will lower the price some way, shape, or form. Do you think if I could someone negotiate them to around $27,000-$28000? If not what would be a reasonable price?

I am always weary of car dealers because they always say they can't go lower but I feel that they can always make a better price

Driving AMG Mercedes in the winter?

I live in Minnesota where there's long winters and I think it would be nice to have a classy high performance vehicle like a 2004-2005 Mercedes AMG 4-door as a year round business car. In Minnesota I often see wealthy people driving very expensive luxury sedans in the winter (high end Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar, even Rolls Royce). But I sorta would feel bad about driving such a nice car in the salt and snow as it might cause wear if not washed regularly. What do you guys think about that?

I suppose luxury car makers intend their sedans to be year round vehicles but they're such nice expensive cars, I kind of wonder about that. Do wealthy people that own these cars just wash them weekly and does that prevent erosion pretty well? I really like the high performance AMG Mercedes Sedans that are beefed up like sports cars, but if they're just intended as a seasonal vehicle I'd much rather get a used AMG SL Roadster or Ferrari.

Ok Ive asked this question already but I wasn't specific enough. Ive been looking at luxury cars or sporty cars. I understand that insurance isn't going to be cheap no matter what I do. I really like Mazda RX8's and Mercedes or BMW type cars (luxury). Ive been told insurance will no matter what be a minimum of $3,500. If this incorrect please let me know and supply me with a possible insurance company. I have the money to afford an under $10,000 car and potentially the money on insurance. Have you ever had a day where everything was going perfect and something comes to ruin it?

Long story short; I'm a new driver with a permit for almost half a year now and I had a perfect car drive to the nearby park like always, only this one was a lot more flawless in a way than the rest. So just as I go to park my car, the car speeds and goes over the tree line that divides the center of the lot. Thanks to my reflexes, the other car only got a small dent and I had my dad write our information if he needed any financial help paying for repairs (because I'm just that caring :/). However I felt terrible.
Later the guy told and praised us for our consideration. He then told me not to worry and that it was just a piece of metal. Surprising, coming from a guy owning a BMW. xD
I still felt a little shaken up and guilty (it's my first accident and I won't deny it) and even my parents who weren't angry at all wanted me to forget it. My dad even let me drive his new car to the park later that day so we could take our daily walk. After I almost totaled his old Camry I now proudly own. Sometimes it scares me how much my parents trust me. Am I that trustworthy with cars? O.o
Anyway everything worked out. It was good that it happened so now I know how to deal with an accident when another occurs. But now my fear of the gas pedal has returned. /:

Automotive Systems Technology degrees? General vs. Toyota T-TEN?

I've been working on cars all my life and I want to continue doing it. I'm soon planning to go to college for Automotive Systems Technology, but I have two choices! I can either go to the college right down my road and save a lot of trouble from finding another place to live and finding another job, but the only problem is that, that college doesn't get you specialized in a car make!!! It's a (General) Automotive System Technology degree. There is another college about 70 miles, to make things easier I'll have to find a apartment and a job near there since I drive a Dodge Ram V8, but they do allow you to specialize in a certain field such as Toyota, BMW or GM. I want to do the Toyota program. I know if I go with the general degree I probably wont get the full blown technician job at a dealership because I wouldn't be specialized in anything because I know in order to get good jobs it's all about QUALIFICATIONS. I was just wondering if I am right or wrong about this?
Thank you Kevin, I just called the toyota dealership and talked to the service director and he said about the same thing. He said I can do college at DCCC and get a job at the dealership, may have to work my self up from something, but they have a T-TEN program at the dealership.

Hi, I have a 1994 325is and i had to take the battery off, now the radio says CODE on it i don't have the code. I know there's sites that can help you retrieve this code with the make and serial number but i pulled the radio out and i couldn't find who manufactured the radio or any serial numbers only thing i found on it was these numbers stamped on the metal "F40188017B" so i wanted to know if i replaced the radio with something modern would the CD Changer in the trunk still work even though its a different radio?

I've researched it a bit and read that the battery is under the rear seat on the passenger side. How do you pull the seat out and after you get to the battery, is it pretty much like jump starting a normal car or is there something different to it? Hello all.
I have just completed my Junior year and am currently on an internship now, so i will graduate in the end of August next year with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Tech.

I am also very interested in learning Japanese and have took it upon myself this year to study at home as a hobby, but i would like to learn how to speak fluently. I think it would be a great help in my career because i enjoy working in Manufacturing, (Have worked for Energizer Manf. and now BMW Manf.) and would someday want to work in Japan or for a Japanese company.

Should I go for my undergrad in Japanese after a I graduate? or is there a better alternative. I want to learn both the language and the culture.

i have a 88 bmw 325i. and it smells like its overheating and the hot/cold meter on the dash goes haywire, and just after about 10 Minutes of driving. i think that its the thermostat but i dunno that's why im asking. I have no coolant leaks and its always full i check daily.

Problem is customors will basically be paying thousands of dollars more for an exterior change, unfortunatley the engine only got a 18 HP boost (348 HP) which isnt much nor impressive for a High performance sports car competing against the AMG, M-series and S-line cars with greater power. Do you think its worth the money?? I mean its cheaper compared to its competitors, but is the MSRP justifiable?

I have a 1999 bmw 323i and something is wrong with my ignition..My key is very tough to put into the ignition but the car starts right up and there's no problem from there..When you go to turn the car off, the key is extremely hard to pull out and you have to really wiggle and pull as hard as you can to get it out. This just happened out of random, i dont know if it needs a good cleaning or a new switch? thanks guys
